Security Building
Built over a century ago, the historical renovation of the Security Building is a prime example of the past melding beautifully with the present. While still satisfying the current code requirements, the team of developers, contractors, and architects were able to bring the building back to its historical radiance with unique features such as virgin redwood wainscoting, ornate molding corbels and brackets, and natural light filled hallways with the use of skylites and light-wells. In addition to the opulent upper 2 levels, the ground level maintains a row of retail/restaurant spaces that service and enhance the culture of downtown San Jose.
As a joint venture between Barry Swenson Builder and the San Jose Redevelopment Agency, this project historically renovated 34,600 Square feet of office space and 20,000 Square feet of Retail space on the ground floor.
